Tigers, Santiago Reach Two-Year Deal
The Tigers have agreed to a two-year contract with infielder Ramon Santiago.
Santiago, 32, hit .260 in 101 games last season, playing mostly second base. He hit .295 after the All-Star break, helping Detroit pull away to win the AL Central.
He was one of four players to make at least 22 starts at second base for the Tigers in 2011, along with Ryan Raburn, Carlos Guillen and Will Rhymes.
Mets Agree To Minor-League Deal With Loewen
The Mets have agreed to a minor-league contract with pitcher-turned-outfielder Adam Loewen.
Loewen, 27, who will attend major league spring training under Tuesday's deal, was 6-for-32 (.188) for Toronto last season with one home run and four RBIs.
He hit .306 at Triple-A Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League with 46 doubles, 17 homers and 85 RBIs.
Royals, Broxton Agree To Deal
The Royals have reached an agreement on a contract with former Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton.
The one-year deal is worth a guaranteed $4 million.
The contract, which also includes performance bonuses, is contingent on Broxton passing a physical exam Wednesday.

The Yankees have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with veteran pitcher Freddy Garcia, according to sources.
Report: Royals, Bruce Chen Agree To Two-Year Deal
The Royals agreed to a $9M, two-year contract with left-hander Bruce Chen on Wednesday, solidifying their starting rotation heading into next season, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the team had not announced it.
Rangers Sign Joe Nathan
The Rangers believe they bolstered their bullpen and starting rotation Monday by signing reliever Joe Nathan to be the team's closer as Neftali Feliz will make the move into the starting rotation.
Nathan, who agreed to a two-year contract worth $14.5M that includes a buyout and a team option for 2014, has been one of baseball's premier closers since 2004 when he joined the Twins, nailing down 35 or more saves in six consecutive seasons through 2009.
Barmes Confirms Deal With Pittsburgh
Clint Barmes confirmed to MLB.com on Monday that he has agreed to a contract with the Pirates.
Barmes, who played for the Astros last season, will receive $10.5 million over the two years.
"In talking with my agent and talking with the club, (the Pirates) were wanting to make a decision and they wanted to know by pretty much yesterday who their shortstop was going to be so they could continue to move on," Barmes said.
"It was one of those things they had a few others guys lined up behind me, and the way it was explained to me I was the first in line as far as who they wanted. They threw a great offer."
Pirates, Barmes Close To Deal
The Pirates are in serious talks with Clint Barmes regarding a two-year, $10.5 million deal.
Barmes, 32, hit .244 with 12 homers and 39 RBI for the Astros last season.
Pittsburgh has an opening at shortstop after declining Ronny Cedeno's option.
Laird Returns To Tigers With $1M Deal
The Tigers have bought catcher Gerald Laird back with a one-year, $1 million deal.
Laird hit .232 with one home run and 12 RBIs in 37 games last season for the World Series champion Cardinals.
The 32-year-old has a .241 career average with 35 homers in nine major league seasons. He was with the Tigers in 2009 and 2010 and also played for Texas (2003-08).
Twins, Doumit Agree On $3M Contract
The Twins have reached an agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract with free-agent catcher Ryan Doumit, according to a baseball source.
Doumit, 30, is a career .271 hitter in parts of seven seasons with the Pirates. He hit .303 in 77 games last season.
He is expected to back up Joe Mauer at catcher in Minnesota. He's also expected to spend time at DH and in the corner outfield positions.
